For the past two weeks the art department in Canterbury College have
been holding an end of year show which includes both Art and Design and
Graphic Design. During this time my work has been on display in the new
uca area of Canterbury College. This has been
a great experience as i have been able to bring in my family and let
them see my work printed on a large scale. I have also won a John
Millest William Award for The most Outstanding impact on the show. This
was a huge surprise and i was so pleased to learn how much i have
progressed during my years here.

Kids Activities Week
This week Canterbury College was open to kids as young as 4 years old, where they would take a tour of the college and then partake in some fun activities such as painting, drawing, making medals, Olympic touches and sculpting. To gain a higher grade in my unit 10 i was part of a group of 3 who came up with and designed all of the activities they would be doing on the art table. I spent the week before the children arrived planning the activities, designing and making the templates for medals and torches and also shopping for the equipment they would be using. I then came in early on Monday morning to help set up all of the equipment to make sure it was all ready and safe for the children to use. During the week of activities i supervised the show for two whole days and also took care of taking down the show and making sure none of the equipment was thrown away. I found this to be a really good experience as i was quite hesitant before hand as i have never really been around young children and i wasn't sure quite how to behave, but after a few hours on my first day i had got the hang of things and was really enjoying myself.

Final Owl Design
Here is my final owl design that will be going into the end of year show printed to A1. I am really pleased with the way this turned out and i think it is a really nice way to show how i have gained my own style throughout the year.
Owl and The Pussycat
Here is my Owl and The Pussycat Illustration for the poem by Edward Lear. This piece was inspired by the artist Cliff Mills, who does digital illustrations using a photograph and a tablet.

UCA's End of Year Show
These are some photographs from the USA End of Year Show. I went over there to take a look at some of the work from there students so that i could compare the standard to my own as they are taking the same level class as me. I thought everything was really professionally presented and looked like a art gallery. There were some really impressive pieces of work and it was a really nice show.
